Hongkong Abeerden Harbour, A sampan ride experience is an old traditional boat ride of hongkong locals. This mode of boat transfer was an old chinese transport where this Harbour was occupied by Southern Chinese Fishing Families where they used to live afloat with their fishing boats. A Big Floating Restaurant called Jumbo Floating Restaurant is a 5 star restaurants that mostly tourists and hongkong rich locals flock into.

Aberdeen Harbour has a rich history of fishing industry that dates back several centuries and still thrives in this area on the south of Hong Kong Island.

Today the harbour is lined with urban promenades on both sides and is the location of the important Aberdeen Wholesale Fish Market. It also a typhoon shelter meaning it is loaded with vessels of all manner, including expensive yachts, coastguard speedboats, passenger ferries, sampans and all manner of small vessels used to support and supply

Der Kontrast zwischen Hochhäusern und traditionellen Schiffen ist typisch für den ehemaligen Fischerhafen. Inzwischen sind die meisten Fischer in Sozialwohnungen untergebracht.
Diese Szenerie erlebt man am besten stilgerecht bei einer Hafenrundfahrt mit einem „Sampan-Boot“. Ein paar wenige Hausboote der traditionellen Fischer kann man dabei noch entdecken. Diese Tour ist total empfehlenswert! Im Januar waren weniger Touristen wie wir hier.

Busy harbour. There are some diehard boat-dwellers in their floating homes, the real Tanka people, great respect for them. These houseboats are kitted out with all the mod cons including washing machines, stoves, broadband and satellite dishes. Do the sampan ride and eat at the waterfront restaurants, but not the floating restaurant.. .it’s way overpriced
